In-Person Pickup Is Recommended

In most cases, we strongly recommend picking up your completed sealed Form I-693 in person at our Costa Mesa clinic. In-person pickup ensures that the sealed envelope is not damaged, opened, or lost in transit.

The integrity of the sealed envelope is critical. If the envelope is damaged or opened during mailing, the Form I-693 may be invalidated, requiring a new examination.

Why the Sealed Envelope Must Be Protected

USCIS requires that Form I-693 be submitted in the original sealed envelope provided by the civil surgeon. If the envelope is opened, torn, or otherwise compromised, USCIS will not accept the form. You would then need to undergo a new immigration medical examination.

When Mailing May Be Necessary

We understand that in-person pickup is not always possible. If you are unable to pick up your Form I-693 in person — for example, if you have moved out of the area or have a physical limitation — please contact our office to discuss mailing options.

Alternatives to Mailing
